I don't doubt there are homeschooled successes, I've personally known many. But as someone who has some teaching involvement at the collegiate level I can confirm that there are some homeschool disasters also. I think efforts to integrate homeschooled kids in sports, FFA, 4-H, band/choir, etc anything to build social and communication skills are critical to ensure those folks can reach their full potential in society. If you have the aptitude and desire to teach your kids I'd say go for it, but be darn sure, no sense in crippling them for life either just to prove a point.
