2388, there is more than one way to skin a cat (oops, didn't plan to mention a cat) and for me spreadsheets are not the way I do it.  Back in the day I used spreadsheets when I had a hot little computer called a Commodore 128.  I thought I had arrived when it came to keeping high tech records.

After using spreadsheets for quite a while, I chose to use integrated accounting programs instead.  They are still working the best for me, but they aren't the best for the next guy.  Spreadsheets are a great way to accomplish your accounting goals if you prefer them.  I don't.  Does that mean I'm not getting the (critter) skinned?  I don't think so.  I hope this helps you tone down your rhetoric a bit.  Cheers!
