NE ND | My dad had never sampled when he farmed. When I started farming I pulled a few samples just to see where things were at. I had numerous fields with 60 to 80 pounds nitrogen and one field had 120 pounds. I was able to pull a 40 bushel wheat yield and a 2100 lbs. sunflower crop the next year off that field with no added fertilizer. I dont do it every year to every field. I try to do it every third year for sure. | |
