Subject: Re: Treating infant ear infections

SE Neb
Our youngest (girl) had major ear infection troubles and had them stupid tubes and had nothing but troubles. We went to the ENT specialist weekly for several weeks and for luck one day he had to take care of an emergency (he was a reconstructive surgeon as well). His PA came in and interviewed us to get up to speed and she asked if we had tried vinegar? We both looked at her like she was stupid but after about 6 weeks of the good, better and bestest stuff we were ready to try whatever we could to fix the problem. Darndest thing 50% white vinegar and 50% distilled water warmed to the touch and a squeeze bulb and 2-3 days and guess what things looked great and the infection was almost gone. A darn home remedy and in no time what hundreds of dollars of ear meds couldn't do that 50/50 mix did a great job. I guess I would never have thought of it, but the vinegar is an acid and that was just the ticket to kill the infection. The poor kid had to endure all that pain and a lowly PA could've saved us weeks and many $$$. I still can't thank that PA enough for her help. I would recommend this to anyone that has ear troubles as it did wonders for my child when the most powerful high dollar meds couldn't touch the problem. Hope you are able to get things on the mend sick kids is not one bit fun..
