Greenwood County, KS | I have done research and there are no double-blind, randomized control trials that support upper cervical chiropractic approaches for otitis media. There are a few published papers of case studies or meta-analysis of chiropractic treatments affect on otitis media, but these were published by chiropractic organizations and as one would suspect there isn't a control group i.e XX% got better after chiropractic, but didn't mention what percent improved without treatment. Anyone who knows anything about science and research knows that without a control group, it isn't research and holds no value.
I should say that my point is not that chiropractic care is incapable of helping otitis media. My point is that we are discussing an infection of the inner ear, a medical problem, why would anyone see a chiropractor instead of seeking additional medical care?
By the way 60% of back pain will go away without treatment within 2 weeks, up to 80% in 6 weeks. | |
