sw ontario | For guys with some land owned that 30k acres of rented land would have given at least 60 young guys a chance too farm. Lesson learned is just renting cash cropping ground is a 1 year at a time job. On the positive side it shows us what we will see more of as far as size,competition and what can be done with management and machinery. If it wasn't ILLF going after all that ground it would be someone else. In our area a young guy has went up too 8k acres being aggressive on rents and everyone bad mouths him but he does a good job of farming and real issue is the guys bad mouthing just wish they had of done same thing before him . You are always a nice guy until you make some money and grow. | |
