Panhandle of Ne. | I would be sure and plant a hybrid that has as high a goss's tolerance as possible. I have heard, read, talked to other farmers that have had goss's. One in particular was doing strip till back into standing stalks and started having real problems with goss's. They told him the goss's spores were still in the old stalks, rains would come and wash the spores onto new corn. He now has stopped strip tilling and pretty well gone to full tillage and stopped the problem. | |
