The difference is farmers are price takers. If the local tractor dealership incurs higher costs, they up their labor rate. Same with the tire fixer. If we incur higher costs, we can't go up on what we charge. One thing is for certain, the prices of commodities will eventually fall, and when they do, the input costs won't follow for a while. That's when everyone will feel the squeeze.
