Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot | I put a VFD pump in when we redrilled our house well. Only reason I did was because the house is on it, and it is nice for that. Way the plumbing is in our house, with the old pump system the pressure would fluctuate quite a bit. Would vary the temperature of a shower, would get hotter when the pressure went down, then you'd get more cold when the pump kicked on. Shouldn't be as big a deal in a more modern house. But we also run shop, and water all the corrals and drylot cows in winter off of the same well, irrigate lawn, etc. It is a very nice system, but unnecessary anywhere but a house IMO. I know it will be more expensive to repair, and despite what the pump guy said, it does NOT save a dime on the power costs.
Regular old submersibles are cheaper and easier to come by on a Friday night when the well goes down. I've got a separate backup well and pump just in case. | |
