The little single Crystal Light packets that flavor a bottled water are good.  Current pictures of his home area might be nice.   The craziest I ever did was, in the spring, dehydrated a batch of morel mushrooms, packed them real well with cushioning and sent them over to Iraq along with a skillet, seasoned breading and all the fixins to fry up the 'shrooms.    It's good that the thought is what counts, cause the mushrooms were dust by the time they arrived at Ramadi.  :~)   And it's true..........it is the thought that counts, more than what you actually put in the package.  He'll appreciate it.
