small town Iowa.... | I believe it's mainly because of the economy, partly because
most of us have had enough of dealing with the public by 5:00.
During the planting season, we stayed open Saturday afternoons
to keep the planters rolling. Most of these Saturday afternoons were
a waste of time and money. We didn't sell enough to pay the overtime
and lights.
Also, I think the consumer needs to think about the people working
in these places. I get to the store at 7:00 everyday, leave at 5:00.
Not a sit down job.
I get about a half an hour each day off my feet for lunch.
So, at quitting time, I want to get out of there.
I am not a kid anymore, late 50"s, 10 hours in enough for me.
I always thought there will be another day tomorrow to finish up
what you didn't get done today...If there isn't....who cares?
