Rented land you need to worry about losing every year or three, hard to base your whole operation on one lease? What happens if the rug gets pulled out?
Getting a big chunk of land at one time early in one's career is difficult, you'll probably have to endure a little gauffing at such an idea as making it sound easy to come up with 800 acres or 1200 acres any time you want....
