central - east central Minnesota -

rice-and-hogs - 6/30/2011 00:33 Squish, I have the help of my grandparents, my family has farmed in this area for over 90 years. We aren't bto's by today's standards but a fair sized farmers and do our best on every acre. That was our key when we gave up a lot ground in the 90's we could make more by not being 4000 acre farmers and honestly not the greatest we could be at it. As far as doing both they, these farms aren't very close together to transport machinery on highways

That comment doesn't make alot of sense to me .. .  hard to understand. If you are currently farming, and would consider renting the  1200 acres, then you would be transporting machinery to the rental land, right?
If you bought the 800, is it right next door ? or transporting machinery to it?
I'd be pushing the pencil (software program, now I guess) and see it work through - you are in college, make use of what you should be learning. Like it or not, the trend is for larger farms/production centers and you are at an age to lead that trend . . . . my 2¢
