I agree it COULD get tight and if it does those who have held out will be rewarded well. On the other hand, if there is just enough or a little extra, they may be taking a lot less than they could have got last October or November if new crop looks good - seen that happen before too cleaning out the bins to make room for new crop at prices less than last fall. I'm not much for storing grain long term - just not in my nature. I look at the bins as holding tanks, selling cash when basis looks decent, using paper if I want to "hold" (which is almost never). That works well for me most of the time but there are those years every so often - and maybe this year is the one - where a windfall can be made by holding cash grain and having it when everyone else is out. I'm not enough of a poker player. Bird in the hand kind of guy.
