Subject: The dual antenna design

Cedar Rapids, Iowa
Vegetable farms commonly have tasks that require much lower speeds than we have in broad acre crops. Think less than 1 MPH. That is a situation where the dual antenna design really shines.

Any system that has a single antenna/receiver has to rely on inertial sensors to determine the machine's heading. That works better when you're moving, but is very tricky when the machine is moving slowly. By using two antennas/receivers, the system is able to calculate the heading between the antennas. That information converts to the absolute heading of the vehicle, regardless of speed.
