Subject: New Holland 1920 PTO woes

Michigan.
Our little 1920 recently decided that it it dosn't want to have the PTO engaged.

Linkage and lever are free working and the detents are positive.
It's a double clutch system so I figured maybe it's the PTO clutch, Nope. Clearance is right at spec. and I took the pedal slop down to 1" on the primary clutch with only partial engagement(Grinding!) when the clutch is engaged as a result.

Anybody ever work on these things?
If so what am I looking at?

The worst part is that it's the peak of post harvest prep for next season, and trailering the other tractor between fields plus increased fuel consumption is gonna make me crazy! LOL!

Thanks!
