I think it's a relief valve for phasing the cylinders.
You may be right.
Years ago I combined two smaller tandem discs to make one large one with folding wings.
To make the main frame and wing lift hydraulics work we needed phasing cylinders. Checked on the price of a matched set of 4 phasing cylinders, which scared the heck out of me. No way for that kind of money.
We decided there must be a way to phase cheap tie rod cylinders.
We installed conventional cylinders with adjustable pressure relief valves plumbed in parallel with the std lift cylinders.
We set the relief valves to blow at a few hundred pounds more than was needed to lift the disc. When the first cylinder hit the end , the relief valve popped and bypassed oil to the second cylinder, when that one hit the end, that relief valve popped and any trapped excess oil or air returned to the tractor Worked like a charm, every time you held the hyd lever in the raise position for a few extra seconds, the cylinders would rephase themselves perfectly, using $80 cylinders and $45 pressure relief valves.
