just a tish NE of central ND | Like I said, you never know how much you will use a lathe until you get one. Today we turned down a sprocket hub on a brandt grain vac that needed a bit longer setscrews.The outer hub was at least a inch or inch and a quarter thick. it was simpler to cut off a eight inch so the setscrews I had bought reached all the way through. (longest set screws available anywhere here locally so had to settle for what I got)Then while it was turning, we polished the rusty inside up with emery cloth which made for a rapid install.
Last week, mmy sons turned down a shaft to make a piolet shaft for the clutch install on his S 10 clutch chevy project..
