| When paying a custom sprayer, not only are you paying $5-6 an acre for application, they also charge more for their chemical. If you shop around and prepay your chemical in the winter, you can save yourself another $5-7 and acre on the chemical. It can pay for a sprayer pretty fast.
When I talk to farmers around here that hire all there spraying done, a lot dont realise this, as they dont compare prices on chemicals since they are locked into whatever there applicator wants to charge them | |
