Subject: which to buy first-corn head or sprayer?

This was our first year planting corn. We had about 300 hundred acres of corn, we hired someone to pick it. Next year we are putting more like 600 acres out. Which would be more wise to get, a corn head to pick 600 acres this coming year, it could be more or less in years to come, or a pull type sprayer that we can use on the corn ground, bean ground, and wheat ground. We have about 2000 acres total. The custom harvester bill sure is a lot but with all the other acres we could use a sprayer on it makes us wonder.
If we get a corn head, we want a IH 8 row that cuts the stalks off real good. Someone told me to get those it has to be pretty old or real new, what older model does a good the good job?
If we get a sprayer we want at least a 60 ft. boom maybe 80. Any thoughts or suggestions would be great! TIA
