<p>a repeater accepts the base's signal, amplifies it and rebroadcasts it. for purposes of "turning corners"</p><p> </p><p>a repeater is comprised of a radio receiver/transmitter that is used when the rover (tractor) can't "see" the base station, a repeater is used to rebroadcast the base station's signal to the rover. example: your base is 5 miles a way and you want to go plant in a river bottom.  set up the repeater at the top of the valley where it can be seen from everywhere in the field you are working and can see in the direction of the base station and it'll "bend" the line of sight signal you require.<br />"<br /></p>
