SW MN and Gold Canyon AZ | Jim , I can show you fields that were sideressed that look really bad. Too much rain and they could not get it done. Sidressing into mud doens't work, just as well had it applied before planting when soil conditions were perfect. My fall NH3 or fall manure with 40 of urea before planting looks great. No yellow corn. Spring NH3 or urea one shot worked good also for many.
Biggest thing "HERE" was tile. If a feild is pattern tiled fall NH3 is still the cheapest and fastest way to apply N here. As farmers get bigger here they are letting the coops put it on in the fall. Sidressing seems to be a fadeing practice with the larger farmers. | |
