Kalona, IA | I'm in SE IA and plan to plant 3.1-3.4 beans yet for 2 weeks or so. Got started yest. and got 1 field 1/2 done and got rained out. Very frustrating with these constant rains!! No end in sight! The corn and beans that are in look good. It really all depends on the weather from here on out. If we get a late Oct frost Group 3 beans are preferable as they will grow taller and pod longer. If a mid Oct frost they will not be mature. Corn somewhat similarly. | |
