Hagen Brothers farms,Goodrich ND | I believe I have a couple of those little aluminum blocks with internal check valve and 4 pipe thread hose holes. Never tear up a motor with one of those inline.
My trailer sprayer with a hyd drive pump with the 4 gpm motor, I run the bleed screw aprox 1/8-1/4 turn open to make the 4450's flow control less sensative when adjusting pump speed. This also serves as a pressure relief if you go from run to stop without going to float.
I used the first pump that way for 20 years until I wore it out, replaced it with an identical new one and have 3 years on it. Having that bleed screw open a bit, even on a closed center system, makes for easier speed control and serves as a pressure spike relief if you do a run to stop with the SCV lever. |
