Subject: Hypro hydraulic pump for sprayer went out after only 50 acres?

IL
Original pump had a seal go out or something and it was leaking hydraulic fluid out of the relief holes or whatever they are called. Went ahead and replaced it with a whole new pump as I couldn't get parts right away and didn't have time to tear it apart and find out what was wrong with it. I hooked up the new pump exactly like the old one and then the the hydraulics would kick out every once in a while which has never happened with the old pump. Then the thing quit working after only 50 acres and appears to be locked up. Any ideas on what is wrong? Was the pump just defective or did something make it go bad?

I have the bypass screw closed and locked as it says to in the instructions for a closed center load sensing hydraulic system. I have the flow set on the lowest setting.

I am wondering if something else is screwed up that made the first pump go bad and then a new one to go bad within 50 acres???

Any ideas are greatly appreciated.
