JD changed the meter hub in 2008 to give it a tighter fit and run more true. It essentially helps keep the disk running even, so the doubles eliminator is at 50% all the time. I would check and make sure you have this change, its prettyimportant for the ProMAX 40 to work right. You can tell if you have the new hub if it is machined shinybehind the rubber piece on the hub, the old style (which you're planter would have been built new with) would just be cast with no machining. Knockout wheels will make big difference in consistency of seed drop. You should check that the right brush is installed, and when in doubt, use more talc, especially for heavy treatments.
