Subject: RE: SI Belt meters breaking

central - east central Minnesota -
It's the lack of graphit use that is breaking the belts. Give SI a call and get a manual - it's has lots of helpfull tips. You should be able to plant down to about 2000 seed size - but, the touble is the beans are not all of one size - there will be some 1500 sized beans and some smaller - seed sizing is not all equal, just a average at best and some seed companies do a better job sizing then others - get some graphic and douse the belts good. You can't use too much graphit - I don't have my manual handy, it's in the planting tractor away from home.
