Subject: Re: Soybean population

Elizabethtown,KY
I've been drilling beans since '97, had a 750 for several years, a 1590 for the last 4 years, and have a new 30' 1990 for this year's crop. I planted 7 1/2" rows with the drills, going to be in 15" this year. I plant the first couple hundred acres with treated beans each year, and the rest un-treated, I have more treated than that this year, so we will see what happens. I've dropped my pops from 180K or more down to 150-160K with no yield reduction, going to aiming for 150K in the 15" rows this year.
