Mark, The row cleaners add some more weight to the planter, so yes it is going to make it pull a little harder. Don't you have a bigger JD at your place???? ( I was thinking that you had a JD 8650 or similar???).
Enjoy the rain today! It should help the slug population, but not in our favor :)
