| we farm in central ohio Ashland county and have been no-till for over 20 years. Almost everyear we fight slugs in corn and soybeans. The biggest thing we do is get the stuff planted early in the fields that we have problems with. Our theory for that is to get the plants up and growing before the slugs start doing damage. maybe the plant can out grow them or have some hope. We use Deadline also, don't know if it is the answer but we use it, and I think it helps. I would not give up on no-till yet. We do no dirt prep, increase seeding rates or any of that stuff just spray and plant. One year we did try one of those rolling harrows and in the field we used it sure enough we had slugs. so that is not the answer. I hope this helps and good luck. | |
