I recently read an article in 'the furrow' magazine stating that the farm in the article received a higher yield by planting on a slight diagonal from south-west to north-east. my interpretation was that its wasn't a 45 degree, but somewhere more like 15 to 30. has something to do with light intercept during warmer parts of the day or soemthing like that.
