Interesting question-i had bad greensnap on irrigated corn 2 years in a row from severe thunderstorm winds. Both years mine was planted in a circle. The snap was worst on the bottom of the circle where the rows were oriented more east-west. By the time you got around the circle where the rows were oriented more north-south there was much less damage.
