| Maybe you could find enough clear plastic to solarize the field. To raise its temperature enough to kill the diplodia.
Used to be another practice for some areas was to cover a part of the field, and sterilize it with steam from a steam tractor. Used for food crops.
You sure aren't going to produce a happy clean food crop with lots of fungi growing, so maybe you would be best off to buy your way out of the food grade contract, and rotate the field to beans or some other crop that wouldn't be affected by the diplodia and that would not support the diplodia.
