Kittitas Co. Wa. State

Good root system ?  about 6 inches tall ?  "cool down" over time not 40 degrees one day and 20 below the next ??

Should be ok.  Snow on it now ??   Snow is a great insulator.

Worst would be thawing then re freezing through the winter and no snow cover.  Ground heaves pulls the roots loose from the crown.

I've had years where winter wheat was green-growing, then temp dropped and snowed 1 foot before ground really froze.  Goofy wheat sat under it's snow blanket all winter and turned out a great crop the next year. (ground never did freeze because of snow cover)
