weeds: giant rag, velvetleaf ,lambsquater, wooly cup ,wirestem muly, quackgrass ,rye cover crop, plantain low growing narrow leaves, and usaully somthing else I've never seen before. It maybe Alfalfa next year so no carryover and he perfers no atrazine. or less than 1 lb/ac.
Your right about maybe not having rootworms.
It will be convential tilled.
In the past I've tried Lumax-no wooly cup, laudis -no quackgrass, daull mag followed by accent works but pricey. No Balance in WI.
I basically plan and do tillage, plant, spray, harvest, truck for this guy. We get paid for the custom work but somedays I wonder if we really make much. I let him have me by the balls because he is 60 his kids dont want to farm and I border his 180 acres on two sides. I thought the nice free advice I give, would help someday when he wants to sell or rent. This summer I asked if he would sell me an 80 and he and his wife decided on $7500/ac no less. So much for the free advice....or thats what I get for thinkin' | |
