Subject: working soybean stubble in the fall

mid Illinois
Anybody done any yield comparisons about different tillage operations on bean stubble going into corn next year? In our area (central Illinois) some farmers just knife in NH3, and do nothing else, f/c once in spring and plant. Others lightly disc in fall, f/c once in spring and plant, and one neighbor pulls a big v- ripper deep as he can over all his bean stubble, and make huge dirt boulders in the field every fall, f/cult. in spring and plant. Have to wonder if it is worth spending the time, money, and wear/ tear on equipment to v-rip/ disc rip ground like this. Appreciate your thoughts on this. TIA
