Subject: DNA genetic sequence for B73 corn inbred announced this week

Science magazine reported the complete genetic code for the 1970s foundation parent corn variety is now complete. You can read a brief summary, but need to have a subscription to obtain the detailed analysis. Does anyone know how extensive the B73 is used in current varieties and if it has been augmented with the new biotech(possibly patented) traits? The actual DNA strands are much more complex than the information relayed in this announcement article. Is Bill Russel still developing corn inbreds at Iowa State?
