Subject: RE: Calculating acres in a field - Here you go.

Joshua,

Try this: http://www.bing.com/maps/

Type your city and state in the top left search box.

Select Aerial view. And zoom as needed.

Go to the toolbar at the bottom and click on the Star Icon (My places).

A small window will open. At the bottom of the window click on the closed polygon. Then click anywhere on the map and start to draw a polygon. When you get close to closing the polygon, LEFT CLICK. Select "finish drawing" and name the field. It will then show an area of the polygon. You will have to convert it to acres because it will either be square feet or miles.

It's free, you can sit in your recliner and you don't need to sign up, but I think signing up might allow you to store more than ten fields.

Some areas of the Country (like mine) have better resolution than others and also a Bird's Eye view which is really cool.

Hope that helps.
