Farmington IL | We have the beans all cut and we are down to 400 acres of corn yet to harvest which puts us right at half done with the corn. In our area we are way ahead of the average. How close are we to the completion of harvest? I havent a clue! Too much rain!!! After today all the drying bins will be cleaned out and will be ready to be filled again. Earlier this week I lined up trucks to haul corn right out of the field to town once we catch up to the dryers. We are going to try to knock this thing out in a hurry but we need a little help from mother nature. If you would have asked me last weekend I would have told you we would be done by thanksgiving. Now I am hoping to finish before we turn the page to december but each day it looks less likely. A week of decent weather ought to get us done.
When we do get done I think I will go get some beer and sit at my desk and get hammered drunk! I want to forget 2009.
