Bloomfield, KY. | I honestly had fewer problems with the carts at this year's show than 2 yrs. ago. That may have been due to it being 20 degrees cooler this year. I get grumpy when I get hot!
That said, it is obvious they need to tighten the rules a bit on who gets to use a cart. I don't know how they should do it. It is tough to determine someone else's needs.
For instance, my BIL had a hip replaced last week that has bothered him for 20 yrs. He is only 52. He looks perfectly healthy. He works 80 hrs. a week. If you saw him riding in one of those carts you would think he is just lazy. You would be wrong.
It would be a nightmare for the FPS folks to decide who is medically unfit & needs a cart.
I just try to ignore the carts. When one comes up behind me, I figure they can pass if there is room, but I don't worry about getting out of the way. The old bumper sticker applies in this instance--"I may be slow, but I'm ahead of you."
