Japan is not completely void of agriculture. However, in many instances, the waste is seperated and the solids composted and the liquids treated much the same as human waste in a sewage treatment plant.
As with many other countries. The cultural practices reguarding the raising and eventual slaughter of livestock is somewhat different than the USA or Canada.
