| With the $29/cwt carry from March feeders to October feeders, I’m thinking about buying up a bunch too. I’m still thinking I can collect $6-8 of that on paper and not actually own them. That carry has been $32+ which, my rough math says, gives me $240/head to work with right out the gate. Graze out most of the wheat and sow a forage sorghum on all the fields slotted for summer crops.
Don’t get me wrong, I don’t like straightening them out and dragging off dead’s, but for $240 each right out the gate, I’m going to have to learn to like it. | |
