| Been contemplating a few capital expenditures and needless to say I've got sticker shock.
Thinking of updating horsepower however what scares me more than the price of a used JD R series tractor is the cost to repair the beast. What's a trans rebuild cost on one? What's a motor rebuild on one? Prolly 30k plus on either.
Tough to justify some of this stuff unless you have a bunch of acres to spread it around.
Cost/return ratio is really outta whack with today's prices. Fertlizer and Chems should come down in price, may take awhile for good used machinery to come down since new is so high priced.
Do any of you share major purchases with a neighbor like combines sprayers etc and how does it work out
