Subject: RE: 3pt vs pull behind sprayer for hills

Nebraska, The land of corn and cattle

Were less than 1000 acres and we have a SP. Our ground sounds alot like yours, lots of small broken up and hilly fields arent ideal on a pull type, and the tractors that can or do have saddle tanks are doing other jobs. Yes its more to maintain, but worth it for us to just hop in and go spray when we need to.

We have a 284 Hagie, and for small acres its hard to beat one, 4wd, high clearance, and 800 gal capacity, all features that arent found on other sprayers of the same price and age.  Plus front booms that are much easier to keep out of the dirt/trees/fences than having to look behind you all the time, and spraying corners is a breeze with them.

The Hagie lets you get the most out of your $ in older sprayers IMO, which is important on small acres, spray all the acres, plus the ability to Y drop and spray fungicide/insecticide when needed.

If you can swing one, a 2100 would be the best, you get even more capacity, and you get 4 corner air ride, which would be very nice. Its a sprayer that would last a guy with 1000 acres a long time if he can do some maintenance and repairs himself.
