We will need a tender regardless, so small tank size isn't a concern. I am more concerned about doing a good job and keeping machine cost and maintenance under control than getting max acres per hour.

Spraying with a large pull type works out to about 30-50% of the time spraying. The rest of the time is turning and travelling and filling. I know the percentages seem unbelievable but you’ll find out. A small tank will really eat into acres/hour efficiency. You’ll be driving to/from the tender twice as often, climbing up/down the tender twice as often, connecting hoses twice as often, starting pumps twice as often, PPE on/off twice as often, etc. When you’re at the front headland and you’ve got less than 60 gallons left you can either fill now or make a partial run up/down. Those 60 gallons is a lot bigger percentage of 400 gallons then it is to 1200 gallons.

I know you said you aren’t as concerned about acres/hour but it will be a big difference compared to a large pull type.
