I have a slightly older 6.0, a 2003 with the 4L80E transmission. The Paperwork says it should have a 3.73 Gear, but when I was servicing the Differentials after purchase, much to my surprise I found a 44 tooth Ring gear and a 10 tooth Pinion. Obviously someone had changed gears, since 4.40 was not an option when this truck was built. I get about 12 MPG running empty, and as poor as 7MPG pulling my 5400 lb Travel trailer. It pulls along OK, but the real downside, is if it shifts to 2nd gear climbing a hill, the engine jumps to over 5000 RPM. It also has a 26 gallon tank, so you gotta stop for fuel rather often when pulling the camper.
