East central Iowa | Reading about the rail strike possible and unions made me wonder, how many of you could walk away from your current whatever job and get another that paid well enough to pay for health care, a car, a house, food, electricity, etc?
I know a lady that's worked at different places and if she finds problems at that place she quits and has over the years obtained another job in less than a month. Frankly I'm amazed. She's not alone in this ability, I know a guy that took off for a time, kind of his personal vacation, came back and found another job in a couple of weeks. Both of these people have jobs that would meet the requirements I placed above.
I wouldn't have any idea where to go to get a job that pay for all that I listed. I know at 76 it's not a concern(I hope) but 30 years or more ago I'd have been in the same boat. It's not that I didn't have any skills, just have no idea who'd pay for them. |
