NE IL | My wife and I are planning a trip to Europe this July for our 10th wedding anniversary. Our plan as of now is to fly into London spend a couple days there and then head to Birmingham to visit family we have there. After that we plan to head to Dublin for a couple days, and then visit the “motherland” in Cork county. Beyond that we are undecided. Several family friends have recommended the Netherlands which we are leaning towards but would be open to other suggestions. Any general recommendations for traveling to Europe and also looking for recommendations for any other must sees that while we’re there? Right now we have about 8 days planned and are looking to go for 10-14 days. We don’t want to feel rushed or have too much of a schedule but also want to make the most of our trip.

We are not necessarily on a budget trip but do want to be conscious of costs. Lodging looks to be 2-3x what we pay here and food and drinks seem plenty expensive as well. Is that accurate?
