I was the opposite. Was gaining weight, hearing was muffled, like plugged ears, slurred speech, and balance issues, and always cold. Docs couldn’t figure it out. I finally told them to run a blood test for thyroid function.
TSH came back at 96 (I think normal is 6-8) and T4 came back at 0.1 (if I remember right normal should be closer to 1.0). My doc couldn’t believe the numbers and ordered a repeat of the blood test and it came back a little worse. Put me on 50mmg of levothyroxine and referred me to an endocrinologist.
4 month wait to get into endocrinologist but after they saw my labs they made time to see me in 2 weeks. | |
