If you want to gain muscle, meat protein and fat for energy. Exercise enough to stress muscles, then rest them so the protein and body can do its work.

If you want to have a fatty liver (no one should), lots of fructose as the liver processes alcohol and fructose. Drink beer and wine too.

If you want belly fat add in some carbohydrates with whatever meat and fat you eat as the carbs will raise insulin levels and insulin tells the body to store excess energy as fat for later use. So both the carbs and fat will go to fat storage. Insulin levels are the key to fat storage. Insulin high means there is excess energy available so store excess as body fat. Insulin low means go get fat as needed for energy. Low insulin for body fat usage or loss. Carbs raise insulin. Fat does not. Protein depends on fed state (becomes additive to carbs with carbs present, very little insulin influence if only protein and fat together in absence of carbs).

That is my understanding. I'm no nutritionist.
